emwriterdude
The Febuary lineup is up, and I can't help but notice that there is absolutely no silent sunday's, and alot of the movies are VERY recent, like from the 70's and 80's and even the 90's. Is there a logical reason for this? Eric
movieslover1000
Yep, its called 31 days of Oscars, which since Feb is only 28 days, it will include the first 3 days of March.
nickdimeo
It's also called, find another channel for a month.
bansi4
Ahh, my favorite month of the year on TCM especially since I am an Oscar buff. Not only do I get see see some great Oscar winning films and performances but also those delightful short films and mini interviews. I would also welcome some newer films worthy of Oscar contention as well as winners. Roll out the red carpet and get out the popcorn it's time for those Hollywood movies and stars to strut their stuff and entertain us once again whether winners or losers. moviejoe79
I'm surprised they're doing it in Feb. - I thought they always did it in March? I guess I was wrong. But Mongo's right - this is one of the best months of the year for TCM - they really do a great job with all of their Oscar winning and nominated films. What other station could give us a whole MONTH of nothing but the best from Hollywood - It's great to see that they're keeping this tradition going. bansi4
Joe, TCM is presenting Oscar month in February because the Academy moved their awards show from March to February last year. So in keeping up with the tradition TCM is once again obliging. Mongo
path40a
Though I'm happy that February will be Oscar's month, one I definitely look forward to each year on TCM, I'm disappointed that I'll have to wait another month to see if tcmprogrammer et al will be putting any of my obscure film choices on their March schedule. jackpickford1
The Oscar month is extremely tedious, especially for the fans of the silents.
brackenhe
Haven't looked at the schedule but I imagine it's the same old, same old. Not that I don't appreciate Oscar winning performances, but I wished they'd show some that maybe we haven't seen every Feb/Mar since 1994. Now I'm starting to sound like you know who. But it's gotten to where I don't watch much during the Oscar month because I've seen the movies so many times. I'll be stepping off my soap box now. Sorry to offend the newbies that haven't had TCM as long as I have.
adoreblgs
Yeah, as always, its the same ol' same ol' for the billionith time!!!!!!!!!!!! Am so tired of this! I have requested many movies that TCM owns and has not shown in a long time! They just keep on showing the same movies over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over!! Enough is enough!!!!!

brackenhe
Ok--I just checked the schedule and there are actually some of these I haven't seen that I have been wanting to see. However, if this is the Oscar lineup, how did the movie Green Card get on there? I kind of liked this movie but I never knew it was nominated for any Oscars. Gerard Depardieu definitely seems out of his element and Andie MacDowell just seems ackward (sp?). There are a lot of the same old movies but I did notice there were a lot of newer nominees and some foreign flicks I haven't seen so I may be tuning in from time to time. So I will eat my previous negative rant.
KeithFromKC
It's good that TCM pays tribute to the Oscars and all, but I'm also one who is kind of bored with the concept of playing only Oscar nominated material for a full month. I guess it will be a good month to just get caught up on stuff I've taped previously on TCM. Not that I'm bored by movies that are Oscar-worthy by any means. It's just that I've already seen about 90% of the programming that is offered during Oscar month. I too end up missing the silent films and the weekly foreign offerings. edgedrv
Yes, I too mostly ignore TCM in February. Most of the films I either saw or am indifferent to. And I know its a wonderful film and one of my favorites, but for heaven's sake TCM give TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD a rest. They are running this film into the ground with endless repeats. harlowkeatongirl
Guess it's time for us to stock up on those $1.00 DVDs. TCM is great, but that's not all there is, folks. (THANK GOD!) > The Oscar month is extremely tedious, especially for > the fans of the silents.
moviejoe79
"Green Card" is in the lineup? I remember seeing this movie on T.V. once YEARS ago, and I hated it. What a boring piece of crap that movie is. I can't believe that out of all of the films that TCM could be playing - they pick something like that. And let me guess, it's on in PRIMETIME! Ridiculous. And I haven't seen the lineup yet, but I BET that "The Divorcee" with Norma Shearer (Oscar for Best Actress) is not in the lineup - Meanwhile it should be on over "Green Card" - yeah, green is what I'll be after watching it. I love TCM and have total faith in them to stay true to the classics, but sometimes they make ODD decisions.
feaito
Let's not lose our hopes guys, I remember last year's 31 days of Oscar (March 2003) I watched such rarities as 1929's "Weary River" with Richard Barthelmess and Betty Compson and "Dynamite" with Conrad Nagel, Charles Bickford, Kay Johnson and Joel McCrea, both of which were Oscar nominated in some category.
