Terrence1
I've always admired Virginia Mayo and the way she could go back and forth from dramas to Westerns to musicals. She was always such a delight in her musical numbers. I realize that she did not do her own singing in the movies, but I've always felt she was a good dancer. I would never put her in the same category as Vera-Ellen or Cyd Charisse, but I'm curious how others rate her as a dancer and how enjoyable people have found her musicals. Thanks for any comments you care to make. Terrence.
LuckyDan
Virginia Mayo is a drop-dead honey. Love her. I don't think of her as dancer as often but I do recall this number, and she isn't bad! . . . and it isn't the least bit corny.
Terrence1
Thanks for posting that musical number. It was good to see it again. This shows one reason why she has had so many fans over the years. Terrence.
LuckyDan
This is fun. Here's another, with Cagney from "West Point Story." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90C99OCufbU She doesn't show up for a couple of minutes, but she's worth the wait.
Terrence1
Thanks for sharing that great number with us. It really shows off Virginia's dancing skills. Another number I have enjoyed is from "Painting the Clouds with Sunshine." She and Gene Nelson do a great routine to the song Birth of the Blues. Terrence.
