bansi4
There was W.C. Fields as Cuthbert J. Twillie, Hedy Lamarr as Tondelayo, Groucho Marx as Rufus T. Firefly and Madeline Kahn as Lily Von Shtupp to name a few of the extraordinary and outrageous character names in movies throughout the years. Just for the fun of it perhaps you can recall one of those character names that you just couldn't believe or for that matter tickled your funny bone. ayresorchids
Well, it's hard to surpass "Trudy Kockenlocker." Edward Everett Horton often played gentlemen with elaborate names: Sir Anthony Trimble-Pomfret Count Humbert Evel Bruger Ferdinand Fane Horatio Slipaway Hiram C. 'Mr. Tobacco' Grayson Albert Stuyvesant Spottiswood Egbert "Pinky" Fitzgerald Reginald X. Shotesbury Hiram Dilworthy
bansi4
Just thought of two more. Madeline Kahn as Trixie Delight in "Paper Moon" and Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Mongo
moviejoe79
Who was Trudy Kockenlocker? I've always loved all of W.C. Fields' names - especially Egbert Souse' (accent over the 'e') - Phonetically it's "soo-say", even though you could easily pronounce it another way. And I've always liked Margaret Hamilton's name in "Wizard of Oz" - Miss Gulch - Gulch suits her perfectly, I always find it amusing. And how about Alice Pearce in "On the Town" (she was Betty Garrett's roommate). Her name in the movie was Lucy Shmeeler. And I always liked Judy Holiday's name in "It Should Happen to You" - Gladys Glover.

therealfuster
Since you've mentioned the Fieldsian milieu, I'll go with: Waldo Lydecker, Horace Femm, John D. Hackensacker III, Captain McGlew, and Rockwell P. Hunter [aka Lover Doll]

slappy3500
In "That Thing You Do", "The Bass Player" is never named. He is refered to in such terms as "our Bass Player" or " where is your Bass Player?" I forget who played him ( Ethan Embry?) but in the credits the character is listed as "Ethan Embry......T. B. Player."
