susuhigh
Where is the best place online to buy classics on DVD? I am trying to switch over to all DVDs in my collection. Thanks
nickdimeo
I recommend going to eopinions.com, they'll tell you has the lowest prices of any of the online sites.
kenwal34
susuhigh, There are many places, but two excellent ones are vcihome entertainment.com and kino.com. Kino does a fine job of restoring the classics, and right now their having a sale on many of their DVDs.
classicsfan1119
We would be remiss in not suggesting that you also do some looking in TCM's own Online DVD Store for excellent Classics. You can find a link to this store at this site. I would also like to warn you to be very careful if you're only interested in finding the "cheapest" DVD's that can be found...some of them also come with the "cheapest" quality and you'll be very disappointed in them even if you only paid a few buck for them. ;ML
susuhigh
Thanks, classicsfan, for the advice. I definitely am not interested in cheap. I want the best selection and quality. I have alot of classics that I want to switch over to DVD and when I shop for movies I tend to buy several at one time. Do any of you ever record your own on a DVD Recorder? Is the quality as good as purchased movies? Thanks, Susu
wnyzman
Almost every day I go to http://www.dvdpricesearch.com for the comparison chart they have for every DVD available.
therealfuster
I buy lots of things from the Criterion website and also Movies Unlimited. Both have exceptionally high quality, unless it is a low priced B-type film which has not been restored, that one might find at a place like Movies Unlimited. Kino is also a great site for unusual flicks, which are immaculately restored usually.
susuhigh
Thank you all so much for the great information. I have made notes and now I'm off to purchase my beloved classics on DVD. I'll post later my thoughts. Happy Holidays to everyone, Susu
minatonga
Hi I just saw your post and wanted to add some info about the store I like to use. It's dvdplanet.com They're located in Huntington Beach, CA and offer all their movies thru their website. I think they have the lowest prices and they have free shipping with orders over $25. And they offer 35% off for all the Criterion dvds. I live close enough to go look at their selection in person, but I 've told several people about them and they all seemed pleased.
