Fact #10: Nearly 4,100 cattle were used for the roundup scene early in the film, and a Christmas tree was cut in the Sequoia National Forest and flown into Hollywood for the Christmas day scene in the Benedict house.

#4: Walter Neff's character is single; however, Fred MacMurray's own wedding band is worn throughout the movie but was not noticed until post-production.

7) Carol Burnett did a parody of this film on her famous variety show. In the parody, "Double Calamity," Carol plays the blonde siren with a very noisy anklet, and Steve Lawrence also wears an anklet as Walter Leff. "Leff?" "Right."

9) The door to Neff's apartment opened outward rather than inward, which is very unusual, and also a violation of most fire safety rules.
