1.  Screenwriter Alum Owen followed the band around on tour in France to get an idea of their different personalities, their speech and slang, and daily routines.  He incorporated things he observed into the final script.

6.  Nominated for two Oscars:  Best Original Screenplay for Alum Owen and Best Adapted Score for George Martin.    They lost to Father Goose for Original Screenplay and  Andre Previn's adapted score  for My Fair Lady.

7.  Paul's grandfather was played by Wilfrid Brambell.  He was only 50.  The  running joke of calling him a "clean old man" was a reference to a role he played in "Steptoe and Son" where he was called a "dirty old man."
