Dalton Trumbo's screenplay is taut, chilling, and frightening because the events of JFK's assassination could very well have happened that way. TCM aired it when Robert Ryan was Star of the Month last year, but you're right, it seldom airs. It's kind of a think-piece, sort of a forerunner to Oliver Stone's political films.
