Hard to know for sure without the synopses, but at first glance it looks like a vast improvement over the three preceding months. Not quite as many of the Same Old Same Old, and FINALLY we get (on the 16th) Juano Hernandez in Intruder In The Dust. Sometimes even a single film can make an entire month worthwhile, and that one makes up for an entire year's worth of Mickey Rooney and sappy musicals.

Hey, Margaret O'Brien gets a short birthday tribute on the 15th. I can't remember that ever happening on a Sunday. Thanks, TCM.

Omigod! *A Night in Paradise* is on the schedule! I've been waiting for that for ages, put in a request for it a while back. It's an odd, very enjoyable movie with Gale Sondergaard, Merle Oberon, and Turhan Bey. Also some great horror oldies on the January schedule.

**Drum Beat**? Jan. 9th. Is that the one with Alan Ladd and Charles Bronson? Yee hah! I can't wait.

And **Yellowstone Kelly**? Christmas is coming twice this season.

I haven't been this happy over coming attractions since *Family Honeymoon* was announced last year.

(But then the letdown when that didn't happen.)

*"Hey, Margaret O'Brien gets a short birthday tribute on the 15th. I can't remember that ever happening on a Sunday."* - smileys

I think that is a great "exception to the rule". But it will harder to invoke the "weekend rule" on birthday celebrations from now on.

And unless my list of your "requests" is outdated, there's a really special "Orson Welles" film being shown in January. WooHoo for you!

*Jane Eyre* ! I missed that, thank you! What a tragedy if you hadn't pointed that out. I was just going to glance at the 15th until a more complete schedule was posted. Whew!

Now let's hope Fox really does loosen their death grip on *Eyre* . Thanks for the effort, TCM!

A lot of good stuff here. The items that caught my eye...

A double feature of Ozu's silent A Story of Floating Weeds and his 50s remake Floating Weeds. More Ozu is always a good thing!

Jacques Feyder and Chris Marker films on the 8th

Max Ophuls' The Reckless Moment and The Exile

The Japanese cult film House on TCM Underground

The Jean Renoir Diary of a Chambermaid

Howard Hawks' Man's Favorite Sport, one of the few I haven't seen (Hows about Red Line 7000 in 2012?)

And maybe The Gold Rush will be the true silent version this time out?

*House*, aka *Hausu* is great. One of the weirdest, most psychedelic horror films ever made. Lucky dog me gets to see it on the big screen, 35mm print, on Oct. 29th. Yep, those all sound great to me.

Thanks for posting this.

Some interesting stuff coming:

Jan. 30 - repeat of THE CONSTANT NYMPH. So we see that it wasn't just a one-time deal when TCM ran it on Sept. 28. Now it'll be interesting to see on Jan. 30 if the logo ("bug") is kept on for the entire movie as it was for the broadcast on Sept. 28th.

Jan. 27 - a day of prison movies including NUMBERED MEN (1930) - very rarely shown. Also, the 1940 RKO Radio movie MILLIONAIRES IN PRISON with Shemp Howard of The Three Stooges.

But some highlights of the month for me definitely are the four "Huggett Family" movies (British comedy series, 1947 - 1949). A teenage Petula Clark as the youngest sister in the Huggett family adds her considerable charm (and a song or two) to the second, third and fourth entries in the series.

Some previews of what to watch for:

And another:

More about her movies:

Thanks for running these, TCM!

I am ABSOLUTELY STOKED that TCM will be showing *House* (aka *Hausu*)! I own the Criterion Collection DVD and have watched it with my closest friends, multiple times. I'm eager to learn what movie TCM Underground is going to pair it with.....

Please be aware that none of this information is official, final or complete. What TCM airs in January may be significantly different, and you should not rely on this information to provide correct results. The official January scheduled will be revealed in the normal way and time.

> Michael/TCMWebAdminNow, that's a downer. Probably the true January 2012 schedule will contain the "usual suspects" like NORTH BY NORTHWEST, CASABLANCA, SINGIN IN THE RAIN, and SOME LIKE IT HOT, among others. I knew this thread was too good to be true.

Don't know why my last post was tagged onto the previous post??? Suffice it to say that my previous post began with the word NOW.

I know this schedule isn't final but I have to say, I see that Betty Grable is being high lighted in prime time on 1/6 with 3 films. The TCM Underground film is *Little Darlings*. I don't know if this is a premiere or not but something to take note of, this film has never been released on DVD and is always shown in pan and scan on cable airings. Also, in some broadcasts, and some VHS tapes, the original music (a John Lennon song) was changed. I can't wait to see how TCM will air this. Flix runs this film from time to time, and although they play many classics in OAR, this film is always cropped.

Wow, Under Capricorn is on the schedule, that's a Hitchcock that doesn't get aired often.

I can't wait to finally see Letter From an Unknown Woman on 1/23

I understand that these schedules so far ahead are works in progress. I hope the changes are minor and they are able to fulfill the Silent Sunday Night and TCM Imports selections as they are all very good and I am looking forward to many of them.

I have learned that you must leave at least 2 or 3 spaces between the white box and your post, otherwise as you saw, your post will sometimes get included in the white box with the post you're responding to.

For years, maybe 10-12 yrs.or more????,iv'e been looking for the D.I. to show up on tv,any channel, doesn't matter which one...but it never happened, never showed up on any channel, finally figured i'd have to buy the movie if i ever wanted to see it again, sooo i bought it about a year ago and got to see it again.

Now,after all these years,TCM is gonna show it,on 1/29/12. Thanks TCM for FINALLY showing this classic Jack Webb movie!!!!! Been a long time coming. Now if we can get Pete Kelly's Blues to be shown again, that would be great!. JR.

Hats off to whoever scheduled the Huggett trilogy. Lesser known British films are slowly but surely creeping onto the TCM schedule. Thanks!
