ginnyfan
What's neat about looking at the Danton list is all the movies he made with the same actors with whom he was appearing on WB produced television shows. Warners sure didn't underwork their talent in the late 50s.
TopBilled
>What's neat about looking at the Danton list is all the movies he made with the same actors with whom he was appearing on WB produced television shows. And before that, he was at Universal where he met wife Julie Adams. In the 1970s, he left acting altogether and became a very much in-demand television director back on his old stomping grounds at Universal. He directed Adams in three episodes of Quincy and one episode of Cagney & Lacey.

fredbaetz
Mohr was a busy actor with work in radio, TV and movies. He was Philip Marlowe for three years on radio also the Whistler. But he never really hit the big time, a good actor. Sadly, while in Stockholm, Sweden to do d a TV pilot in 1968 he died of a heart attack at age 54... TopBilled
I am humbly gratified that this thread has reached 17,000 views. I had to look back and find the original post which was created on November 27, 2011. In just over 9 months, this thread has had so much momentum. If it were a Madonna single, it would be certified multi-platinum! It tells me that people care so much about classic film artists and are clamoring to see all the titles that TCM can possibly show. Thanks, everyone. Edited by: TopBilled on Sep 7, 2012 12:05 PM
perfectjazz78
Anyone mentioned Viennese Nights? I private collector sent me a copy of a transfer made many years ago, you can even see the reel numbers at the beginning and end of each reel, and it is really full of great music. Warner and TCM should release a restored version so all can enjoy it. It is a really wonderful operetta, with vivid color... one of the best of the early sound era.
