FredCDobbs
Although beautiful Gale Storm made about 37 films in the 1940s and early '50s, her films are fairly rare today. She started making films at the age of 18. Today TCM aired "Between Midnight and Dawn". Her big fame came when she starred on The Gale Storm TV show ("My Little Margie"), starting in 1952 and going until 1955. At that time, she was one of the most famous "actresses" in America because of that TV show. There were only 3 TV channels back in those days. Her father on that show was played by silent film star, Charles Farrell, and he sometimes would mention that he used to make silent films. I've seen him in a couple of silents aired on TCM. She had another successful TV show from 1956 until 1960, which was "Oh Susanna", much like the later "Love Boat" TV show, and she was on a couple of TV episodes of "The Love Boat" in the '70s. Terrence1
And don't forget that she had a successful career as a singer in the 1950's. She recorded for Dot Records, the home of Pat Boone. And most of these recordings are now available on CD. Terrence.
Ascotrudgeracer
Storm was a powerful actress, but seldom given anything to "chew on." She may have jumped to television too soon (curtains for careers in the early days). She knew the secrets of subtle facial tricks to keep the audience on her.
