eefs
Just my thoughts -- but where are the great "B" films -- This Island Earth Robinson Crusoe on Mars Invaders from Mars (the original, not the dopey comedy remake) Incredible Shrinking Man and so many others. Why doesn't TCM cycle these once in a while?
joefilmone
They are all available on DVD if you can't wait for TCM's next sci-fi festival.
Destinee
Good question. I do not know myself. Though, I hear there is a good sci-fi movie coming up in the start of January. "Things to Come" 1936. You should watch it! What a great way to start off the new year, huh?! Those are great movie picks. I am a big sci-fi fan! Maybe we should make a suggestion to TCM. Tired of all the sappy romantic-comdies that TCM plays daily. My quick-picks. It Came From Outer Space 1953 Them! 1954 The Monster that Challenged the World 1957 The Black Scorpion 1957 The Blob 1958 I love the 50s sci-fi'! Ah, the list goes on. Loved talking with you and I hope to chat again soon about sci-fi'! 'Til then, hope you have a very Merry Christmas eefs!!! ValentineXavier
It Came From Outer Space 1953 Them! 1954 The Monster that Challenged the World 1957 The Black Scorpion 1957 The Blob 1958 I believe that all of those have been shown in the last year, as was *Shapes of Things to Come*. I'd really like to see *This Island Earth*. It's a favorite of mine, and I don't think TCM has shown it.

Destinee
I've never seen either of those films that you named. What is "This Island Earth" about?
ValentineXavier
*This Island Earth* is about an alien planet that enlists Earth scientists to help it in a war with another planet. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047577/

chaney7
Fact is I got so tired of waiting for what I want to see, ( The Quiet Man on St. Pat's day for instance), I wired the house with CAT-5 cable and brought in Netflix & Hulu though my X-box. Now I not only watch what I want I watch it when I want. I'll probably blow off Direct tv all together.
megawolf
here's a question..how are Sinbad, Clash of the Titans, etc movies classified..are they Scifi, Action/Adventure, or Fantasy? Also, anybdy ever seen the movie Krull on TCM?
joefilmone
The Simbad movies are fantasy adventure. "Jason" and "Clash of the Titans" are more fantasy epics.
