edgedrv
FOX has announced several classic western titles for release on May 24. They include John Ford's DRUMS ALONG THE MOHAWK with Claudette Colbert, Henry Fonda and the very funny Edna Mae Oliver. This one has gorgeous color and has been a fav or mine since watching it many times on TV as a kid. Another color western BUFFALO BILL with Joel McCrea, Linda Darnell and Maureen O'Hara and IN OLD ARIZONA with Warner Baxter as the Cisco Kid, probably the first talking western film. I can't remember if the latter has ever been televised. 2005 is shaping up to be a banner year for classic film collectors.

d120421
Thanks for the news. DRUMS ALONG THE MOHAWK was also a favorite of mine (and my father's) and I watched it whenever I could when it was on TV and bought the video for my Dad as soon as it became available. The Technicolor is gorgeous, as is the scenery of "Mohawk Valley." I think Edna Mae got an Oscar nomination for her work in this film, which is unquestionably one of her best (and best-loved) performances. I also thought Fonda and Colbert were excellent, and it was nice to see Colbert in a somewhat unglamorous and dramatic role.
richardny4me
I also saw this film when I was much younger and I have not seen it since, so I am going to get a copy. There are actually quite a few classic films coming out tomorrow, such as THE RAZOR'S EDGE, which I plan on getting a copy of as well.

bhryun
I just finished watching the DVD. It's pretty good, but it does have some moments. If you watch the 'before/after' segments on the DVD, you'll really appreciate what a great job they did restoring the movie. ...and by the way, it's a great movie.
