I cannot remember the name of a movie in which some naval junior officers try to win at a casino by using the ship's computer to analyze what their bets should be and then flashing the answers from the ship using light boxes.

Another film I cannot remember the name of is a film noir flick I saw on TCM about four or five years ago. It involved a businessman who thought his wife was dead (at sea, I think) and decided he couldn't go on living. He goes through a third party to hire a hitman to kill him so he won't know where or when it will happen. The businessman's wife then turns up alive, but the third party man has died (or was killed) and so the businessman cannot reverse the order to have himself killed.

Help! Many Thanks!

That was the original "The Whistler" movie of 1944:
