JamesJazGuitar
Well since The Heiress has one of the top 10 or so best actress performances of all time, it should be shown a lot. But yea, if the original poster wasn't being sarcastic they don't watch TCM much.
DownGoesFrazier
Actually, IMHO, the VERY top actress performance of all time, but, still, the film is verging on NORTH BY NORTHWEST territory in terms of TCM showings.
JamesJazGuitar
Well since I read all of your post (and of course you do the same for me ), I did remember that you said it was the best of all time a few weeks ago. But I didn't want to appear to be over the top so I put in the 'top 10' just to prevent those Garbo fans from attacking me! As for showing movies over and over; If they show Born Yesterday within the next 3 months of so it is going to become the next NBNW.
FredCDobbs
>the film is verging on NORTH BY NORTHWEST territory Yeah, sorry, but I can't take this one again. I'm watching "Six of a Kind" (1934). It's just starting on THIS TV broadcast channel. Charles Ruggles ... J. Pinkham Whinney (as Charlie Ruggles) Mary Boland ... Flora Whinney W.C. Fields ... Sheriff John Hoxley George Burns ... George Edward Gracie Allen ... Gracie Devore Alison Skipworth

Blondie7
Thanks for the reminder Rover. I wasn't able to watch "The Heiress" but I will rent it from Netflix and view it as much as I like or I will purchase the movie. Thank you.
clore
> {quote:title=mrroberts wrote:}{quote} > Anyone take notice, *Gaslight* is scheduled for next week. Look at New Year's Day - they're running THE SEARCHERS which ended just a half-hour ago and CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND which just aired on Tuesday. Plus MR. SMITH GFOES TO WASHINGTON which seems to air every month.
DownGoesFrazier
For several years, TCM didn't air MR. SMITH at all. It only started airing it in the last 5 years or so. I remember this, because I had never seen the film, even though I had been a TCM viewer for several years.
Hibi
I've noticed TCM has been repeating films a lot lately. Wasnt Close Encounters just on a few weeks ago (before last week?)........ Oops. I see someone had already pointed this out........... Edited by: Hibi on Jan 3, 2012 11:03 AM
