RayVanSteen
Seeking the title of a black/white film of the late 30s or 40s. Blind girl living alone in an idealistic cottage. A male "stranger" (escaped convict?) happens along. Her "goodness" converts him. One scene I recall well: The girl walking along a garden path, and the flowers along the sides kind of bending toward her as she passes. Anyone remember? slaytonf
Hmmm...... Frankenstein? Nope. Old blind man. Saboteur? Nope. Old blind father. Woman on the Beach? Nope. Blind artist. Dang.
JulieLovesTCM
Except that it's set in winter - *On Dangerous Ground*? With Robert Ryan and Ida Lupino? Julie
Marysara
What about Destiny(1944)?
FredCDobbs
I think you are right. The clue about the flowers bending toward her as she walks by suggests the film is somewhat of a fantasy. Ray Faiola
Yes, it's DESTINY. Originally filmed as the opening story of FLESH AND FANTASY, the sequence was cut and then filled out by Reggie LeBorg into a 7 reel feature. The sequence as filmed is very effective and I wish they had left it in FLESH. As a feature, the padding is very pedestrian.
RayVanSteen
Thanks to you all. The film I was looking for is, indeed, "Destiny." I even found a clip of it to verify. I appreciate your responses.
