beatlefreakme
Years ago I saw an old movie with a little girl who was called "Hittie", short for Mehitabel. Not sure if I spelled that righ! Anyway I've never seen the film again but I can't forget it.

Terrence1
It was also Evelyn Rudie in the remake called "The Gift of Love" with Lauren Bacall and Robert Stack.
bagladymimi
Was Evelyn Rudie that unusual looking little blonde girl? I had forgotten all about her. Whatever happened to her? I only remember seeing her in a couple of things - I think one may have been on TV. Then she seemed to disappear. Or maybe I just lost track of her. beatlefreakme
Yes she was adorable! I saw her on an episode of Alfred Hitchcock. Thank you all for your help, I kmow I saw the 1946 movie but I can't picture Connie Marshall in the role when only the year before she was in Daisy Kenyon. Thanks- so now I'll rent both movies, the original and the remake!
Terrence1
Evelyn Rudie had a very short career. I remember seeing her on Groucho Marx's TV show, You Bet Your Life, as a contestant. It was very unusual for him to have children on his program. Evelyn was a child genius. The last I heard she was involved in community theater in (I believe) Santa Monica, either as actor or as director. Terrence.
