kd4qjs
The other day I watched and very much enjoyed "Happy New Year" with Peter Falk. Since there was nothing at the beginning to say what this movie had been nominated for, or even won an Oscar; I tried Google to get some information. I never was able to find out anything pertaining to "Happy New Year" and Oscar. Cany someone here help me?
DuryeaForHollywood
I'm happy to help. Happy New Year, directed by John G. Avildsen, was an Oscar nominee in the category "Best Achievement in Make-up." Nominee Robert Laden lost the Oscar to the only other nominee for 1987, Rick Baker, who designed the make-up for Harry and the Hendersons. Cordially, Dan. kd4qjs
Thanks, Dan. I was amazed at the make-up and think this movie should have been the winner.
thestick
I also loved the make up in this movie. I'm probably among just a handful of people who actually like Peter Faulk. Believe it or not I try not to miss Columbo reruns on MeTV on Sunday nights. Like I said, I'm probably on my own on this one.
aimalac91748
I also enjoy Peter Falk. I think his best performance was in "Pocketful of Miracles" where he was nominated for Best Supporting actor (He will be awarded the Academy Award in my programming challenge submission). He also was great in "Robin and the 7 Hoods".
