RMeingast
Borrowed the phrase "Words, Music and Gunpowder" to describe the trifecta of bicentennials this year: War of 1812, Birth of Dickens, and Invasion of Russia/Retreat from Moscow of Napoleon (also Tchaikovsky’s "1812 Overture")... Watching "Conquest" today reminded me of this... TCM will have to do programming themes on each... Why not?? Anybody know of any War of 1812 films besides 1958's "The Buccaneer"?? How about Napoleon/French in Russia movies besides "War and Peace," Love and Death," and "The Duellists"??

It was a weekly event in the December line-up. As to "The War Of 1812" other potential titles include the 1938 *The Buccaneer*. sfpcc1
I've seen the Duelists, (Ridley Scott's first film.) It's a good looking film but kind of dull.
