It's roll call time...when you get to Hollywood post to this thread

Maybe we can post informal fan get together info and schedule changes etc here?

I got in to Hollywood yesterday morning (Monday April 9th) and have eaten at Canter's Deli (over on Fairfax near the CBS TV studios and the Farmers Market & Grove) and browsed a few shops on Fairfax: as I am one cat away from being a crazy cat person I had to go buy souvenirs for my boys at the shi-shi pet boutiques that LA is becoming famous (infamous?) for.

Today being the rural dweller I am I'm going over to check out The Farmer's Kitchen for their locally grown, locally made grab & go sandwiches then off for an afternoon of browsing DVDs at Amoeba Music (that's on Sunset, it's a legendary place for people who love vinyl, CDs, DVDs and Blu-Rays)

Tomorrow I'll hit up the Hollywood Roosevelt...I'll likely bump into a lot of you there :)

So today I found Amoeba Music (and DVDs & Blu-Rays) before I found the Farmer's Kitchen for lunch. Spent a bundle of money and of blissful time in there browsing the racks and no I didn't finish going through them all...may have to go back to Amoeba tomorrow ;-)

Anyway I missed lunch at the Farmer's Kitchen but I did pick up this week's menu and there are a couple things on it calling my name. I did my standby trick of stopping in at Skooby's on Hollywood Boulevard (it's a bit past the Egyptian theater) and today (Tuesdays) they had $2 hot dogs (regular, all beef or turkey, free toppings are: mustard, ketchup, mayo, BBQ sauce, diced onion, sweet relish & jalapeno peppers) or $3 LA street dogs (add bacon cheese, grilled peppers & onions to your basic dog then add whatever freebies appeal to you) Yummy, reasonably priced and easy to get into & out of during the festival

I like Skooby's fries their lemonade and their cheesesteaks too so if you're near the Egyptian keep them in mind...the owner would be happy to see you there.

I stopped by the Roosevelt to see what progress has been made towards getting Festival Central all put together for the attendees...it's looking great over there. Looks like 25 Degrees in the front of the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel will be having daily happy hour food specials again daily in the afternoons (I think the sign said 3-6 pm) so check that out when popcorn and concession snacks just won't do.

If you are looking for Hollywood places to eat, there are three you must do:

In 'n' Out: two blocks south of The Roosevelt, on Sunset Blvd. Make sure you get the Double-Double, their fries, and a shake. The burgers and fries are made fresh when you order them. A California institution.

Pink's: On La Brea, near the corner of Santa Monica Blvd. Look for the line of people.

Musso & Frank's: popular Hollywood eatery on Hollywood Blvd.
