mrroberts
My favorite Zucco performance is his portrayal of Professor Moriarty in *The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes* with Basil Rathbone.
sewhite2000
This looks like a fun thread. I'm going to dive back into some of the earlier pages. Just a few random comments on this page: Wow, who knew that the same woman played Woodrow Wilson's first wife and Robert DeNiro's mother 46 years apart? I LOVE when I learn stuff like that! This Berton Churchill looks to me (not having actually looked it up) like the guy who played the banker committing larceny in STAGECOACH. Now there's a movie absolutely loaded with great character actors. Boy, wasn't Esther Minicotti terrific in MARTY? She lays on just a touch of "Mama mia" kitsch perhaps, but she feels like a completely real human being. So many great moments like when she drops the slang word "tomato" on Marty that she's just learned. She should have gotten a Best Supporting Actress nomination. TopBilled
Thanks, sewhite2000. Yes, Berton Churchill was in STAGECOACH. Esther Minciotti has a great part as an Italian-speaking woman in THE UNDERCOVER MAN. She's simply amazing to watch.

Swithin
It's too hard to pick my favorite George Zucco performance -- there are way too many of them! I particularly like the "snarling, ferocious" speech he gives in The Mad Monster, in which he's talking about what seems to be a little dog in a cage -- it's supposed to be a wolf. TopBilled
I am in the process of putting together the list of character actors for March. I am starting to run out of performers. I have enough 'new' ones to take us into May, and then that will be it. I am pleased that we will hit 20,000 views here by May, and I hope that people continue to add comments about their favorite character actors and actresses, those I have mentioned and those I have unintentionally omitted. Swithin
Terrific group as always, TB. Only two connections for me: I worked with Jessica Tandy's husband (Hume Cronyn) on a project once (2000); and I met Maureen Stapleton. I have a very odd photo of Maureen, me, and Luise Rainer. I also met Maureen's son several years later. I did see Doris Roberts at the theater recently (in the audience), but that's hardly a personal connection. I look forward to your posts!
