mysasha915
Hi Folks: Did George Bancroft get top billing in any old film?
nickdimeo
George Bancroft was a top silent star during the late 20's, right on the cusp of the talkie era. He particulary exceled in movies directed by Von Sternberg and received top billing in two silent classics UNDERWORLD and DOCKS OF NEW YORK. deborahwakid11
Hello, everyone: Here are two other flicks George Bancroft had top billing in, both costarring Frances Dee. In one, Frances plays his daughter; in the other, she plays his girlfriend. Those two films are "Rich Man's Folly" and "Blood Money." "Rich Man's Folly" is based on the Charles Dickens novel "Dombey and Son." This is the film where Frances plays Bancroft's daughter. She plays his girlfriend in "Blood Money." Considering her character in "Blood Money," I wonder what George preferred, Frances as a daughter or Frances as a girlfriend. Take care.
