camera1coth
I feel one of Burt Lancaster's best performances. He and Katharine Hepburn are an awesome pair and it is seldom if ever seen. I cant even find it on VHS or DVD. Anyone else ever seen it?
nickdimeo
You must not get AMC, they constantly showed it around the clock last Summer. I don't think Lancaster ever gave a bad performance (particulary in the 50's) so it's hard for me to agree that this is one of his best. I will agree that Burt and Kate made an awesome pair. maperette
I've seen this a couple of times, so it should come around at some time. Keep watching for it. maperette
tracey65k
Again, another old topic, but you can sometimes find "The Rainmaker" on ebay. That's where I got my copy.

britbrain1
Ah, love that movie. My dad has had it on VHS for a long time, but if it's just been released on DVD, I suppose it's on Amazon. My third grade teacher kept a lot of animals in the classroom. She bought a lovely fish and asked us what to name it. The class came up with many suggestions, but they eventually named the fish "Starbucks." Now, I had never heard of Starbucks coffee in my life. I was (a)surprised that my eight-year-old peers had seen The Rainmaker and (b)wondering why they put an "s" at the end of Burt Lancaster's name. tracey65k
britbrain-- that's a cute story! My daughter is only 11 and she has been watching movies with me for years too. She makes her friends watch them and has converted some of them to oldies too!
