African-American movies

Recommended Posts

I have been an avid fan of TCM for some time now and dont see ANY African-American movies. Why? If they are shown, it's in tiny groups. As if there is nothing else so why not African-American movie. I have seen a quite a few horribly directed AND horribly acted movies where quite a few really good or interesting African-American movies could have been shown. For example, this weekend is Memorial weekend, yet there are no movies about the African-American soldier? Why? I think that if - variety - is the essence of Turner Classic Movies then the variety of great African-American films has to have a place. Yes?
