MSusi07
Thank you for showing this film. It is the first time that I have seen a film on the experience of the Germans after WWII. My stepfather (who was German) would always speak of the difficulties his family had after the war. I would always answer that it could not compare to what the Jews had endured. We had long and detailed arguments about the War. I never quite understood his views. He is now past and I now begin to see his experience in this film. He was around nine or ten at the end of the war. So, I always believed that his memories were tainted by his innocence and youth. It is with this film, that I begin to understand his experience. Thank you TCM for showing this film.
