farnsbarns Posted November 27, 2013 ?Young America (1932) - Spencer Tracy, Doris Kenyon, Ralph Bellamy Another early thirties film and directed by Frank Borzage. (I also picked up their recent Tracy offering from the same year, Me and My Gal - that one directed by Raoul Walsh). This is somewhat of a double-dip - previously available as part of The Murnau, Borzage and Fox box set. Arturo Posted February 4, 2014 Great news for the release of SING BABY SING. It was an early Alice Faye vehicle, and quite funny comedy. It gained a historical footnote in that the then unknown Tyrone Power was cast as the leading man, but then removed when the studio wanted a "name" actor, Michael Whalen. edgeciff Posted March 19, 2014 APRIL RELEASES: *Dante's Inferno* (1935), starring Spencer Tracy and Claire Trevor. Two Biblical epics: *Esther and the King* (1960) starring Joan Collins and Richard Egan and *Sodom and Gomorrah* (1962) starring Stewart Granger and Pier Angeli. While it has not been confirmed, the latter two are likely pan and scan.

BingFan Posted May 30, 2014 More new releases coming 3 Technicolor drama's THE BOTTOM OF THE BOTTLE (1956) - Van Johnson, Joseph Cotton, Ruth Roman MARYLAND (1940) - Walter Brennan, Fay Bainter WOMAN'S WORLD(1954) - Clifton Webb, June Allyson, Van Heflin, Lauren Bacall, Fred MacMurray, Arlene Dahl, Cornel Wilde The two films from the 1950s are widescreen. Its up in the air if these will be released as pan and scan. FOX has been pretty inconsistent with their releases. Any word on whether WOMAN'S WORLD is widescreen rather than pan-and-scan? I like the movie a lot and would be glad to get a good DVD of it. The print that FMC has shown, which I've recorded, is widescreen, so such a print is actually available -- did they use it for this DVD? The description on Amazon seems a bit confusing: "Shown in 4:3 letterbox format using the highest quality source material available." Saying "4:3" suggests pan-and-scan, but adding "letterbox" suggests widescreen.
EdgeCliffe Posted May 31, 2014 Yes, I am afraid WOMAN'S WORLD will be non-anamorphic. I love the film and bought it anyways. Better than pan and scan. FOX could care less unfortunately. Unless TWILIGHT TIME picks this one up for letterbox. I was amazed at the beautiful BENEATH THE 12 MILE print was in letterbox.

Arturo Posted June 16, 2014 More new releases (Basically 'B' films that have vanished from TV airings.)•THE COWBOY AND THE BLONDE (1941) - Mary Beth Hughes, George Montgomery•HERE COMES TROUBLE (1936) - Paul Kelly, Arline Judge•I WAS AN ADVENTURESS (1940) - Vera Zorina, Richard Greene The first two are B films, but IWAA was an A film, if an unheralded programmer. About a ballerina (Vera Zorina, natch) trying to break away from the thieves she had fallen with, once she married socially prominent Richard Greene. With a cast that includes Peter Lorre and Erich Von Stroheim, it is quite fun. Both it and TCATB have been on Fox Movie Channel fairly recently.
