FOX CINEMA CLASSICS

Recommended Posts

If it's restored, or there are extras, then the price is justifiable on some level.

Twilght Time is hit and miss with extras unlike Criterion.  They may have a commentary track.  Most likely this title is coming in the near future since the company licensed a restored soundtrack album like they did with STORMY WEATHER another FOX musical.

I hope you're right...CENTENNIAL SUMMER deserves a home video release.

Good. I will be checking back for updates. :)

The film is on the list of coming attractions with no date set as yet from TWILIGHT TIME.

I think the Colman-Bennett film was originally a 20th Century Picture (Zanuck's independent company before he merged with/took over Fox). At least they are finally giving fans more releases from the 30s; that's a good thing!

Still no news about CENTENNIAL SUMMER. Why does Fox neglect this title? I don't understand.

Read that this is one of the FOX titles that has undergone a restoration. So its obviously forthcoming probably through Twilight Time who licensed this titles along with other titles.

Yes, but how long has it been since you read/heard that? Seems to be delayed, almost interminably.

Just read about FOX restoring many of their classics. I think TWILIGHT TIME has a long list of ucoming blu rays. They have not as yet announced their December or January schedule of releasess.

Thanks for letting us know about these--especially the Carole Landis title. I just made a note about it in the Carole Landis tribute thread in the General Discussions area.

I had forgotten June Havoc was in that picture. She certainly had an interesting, varied career.

Had the pleasure of meeting Havoc sometime in the 90's.  Signed a pix for  me.

Nice. Maybe you can scan it and upload it so we can see...?

Not sure how to do this.  It was a head shot c of Havoc from the B'way show SADIE THOMPSON.   Did not know that until Havoc commented on it. Like many autographs I got I only saw Havoc once in person.  They used to have big events in the 90s in Beverly Hills with lots of old time stars attending from USA and Europe.  Sadly many of these favorites are no longer alive.
