Lindsay Lohan as Liz Taylor

Recommended Posts

This all sounds too much like the CRAP they were saying about Robert Downey Jr. at the height of HIS "troubles". I'll go far enough along to say Lohan's body of work so far doesn't contain any Earth-shaking movies( the *Parent Trap* remake, *Mean Girls* ), but it seemed to me that she was at ease in front of the camera. And while the movie *Georgia Rules* wasn't all that great, Lohan's performance in it was respectable. Of course, many here would discount the whole movie based on their inability to get past the whole "Hanoi Jane" stupidity.

Lindsay Lohan doing a Jane Fonda bio could work. Both shares some things in common in that they really messed up and doing things without really thinking it through. If this Liz Taylor film bomb, then both would also have in common that they shot down their careers.

But are we ready for a Lindsay Lohan workout video?

Just for humor, if Paris Hilton do a porn film in Vietnam, would it be titled "Hanoi Hilton"?

WAIT a MINUTE! *Georgia Rules* was the only Lohan movie you saw? How many of the OTHERS on the "judgemental jury" saw more than ONE, or ANY Lohan offerings?

I am NOT an apologist or saying she's GREAT, but I always thought she had the POTENTIAL to be. Hibi, check out the silly remake of *Parent Trap* with Dennis Quaid and you might see what I mean. Perhaps the fact she started out as a child actress contributed to her problems, as well as her parent's behavior over the years. Don't most child actors wind up jacked around these days? I thought of that while watching *Stand By Me* on TCM the other night. Look what happened to COREY FELDMAN, a very talented kid. Or RIVER PHOENIX for that matter!

As I stated, I saw her in Freaky Friday and she wasn't bad.

But she never was, is not now, and never will be Liz Taylor. No one could be Liz Taylor nor should any film maker attempt any debacle of this kind.

Remember the actor who attempted Lucy Ball? Exactly.

The closest an actor came to a a decent bio was Larry Parks.

In addition, like Lee Marvin and Charlie Sheen before her, her publicity has painted her a bum, so she can't ever again be taken seriously.

MY OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like it, or lump it. :):):):):):):):)

I'm not judging her on her acting ability. I'm not one of those who said she couldnt act. Wether she can pull this off remains to be seen. The fact that its a Lifetime movie, well, I'm assuming the worst.....

I'm a bit younger than her so I've seen her movies when they air on tv and I haven't liked her in any or any of the movies, I don't think it's her fault, she has the same training as all of those Disney child stars out right now, all they do is be an exaggerated and louder version of themselves, it's annoying. All you have to do is turn in the disney chanel and you'll get a headache. And as to compare her to classic stars that were similar to her, chald stars also etc.. well some classic stars also did not have a formal training in drama some of them had just done some plays but not a rigorous training, still in 1956 most of them thought it was funny when someone was preparing themselves before a scene because they were method actors.

Although some people do have it without getting any training for example Ryan Gosling, and some that train for years and are not very good actors, but for me personally it is hard to watch her

Good summary of these hack actors. I guess their next stop is their own 'reality' show.

haha that's true! and they should seize that opportunity before it's too late!

Also portraying a classic actor is not an easy thing, there was a thread here about Michelle Williams as Marilyn and I think most people agreed that she did ok or pretty good, and someone said that Marilyn had that quality on screen they called it flesh impact or something close to that that no one has ever achieved, and Michelle Williams had a year to prepare and she's also a good actress has been nominated for oscars and so forth. I think that it's not a small task and Elizabeth was I think a complicated person and for example Giant was the first film I saw of her and I was blown away with how mature she is as a person and how nurturing she was to everybody around her, and she has a very unique temperament, I think it would take an experienced actress to pull it off...

*anyway I don't think those bio films can ever actually be good films...Supposedly Tom Hanks wants to do a Marilyn film titled goddess with Charlize Theron ugh talk about AWFUL!
