edgedrv
Today (3/16) MGM released a slew of Goldwyn classics including STELLA DALLAS and DEAD END. Does anyone know what is holding up the release of other Goldwyn films: WUTHERING HEIGHTS (1939) and the THE HURRICANE (1937)? Could be it legal problems for these two classics. shainablue1
Do the DVD versions they sell on Amazon play in U.S DVD players? Has anyone tried one?
moviejoe79
Shaina - You have to be careful. Make sure whatever DVD you buy is "Region 1" - this way it'll play on our "American" DVD players. Amazon should state this somewhere. I don't know why DVD's even have regions. It's so stupid.
nopenotmandy
Would the regions affect whether or not it will have captions? I was watching The Apartment dvd and noticed it has French and Spanish subtitles but not english. I don't see a region number anywhere on it.
moviejoe79
Yes, I'm sure the regions do affect what type of captioning is available on the DVD, however, I'm not sure of this since I've never bought a DVD in any other region but '1'. Check out Ebay for DVD's from other regions, they have many for sale on there, and perhaps they list what captioning is available.
