bhryun
Looking for a John Wayne movie. Name is "Island in the sky" Can someone help me find it????
movieslover1000
Island in the Sky is listed as a June 2005 DVD release from Paramount Home Video. It is not available on VHS and has not been shown on TV for more than 20 years because, until recently, it was locked up by the Wayne Estate. (along with The high and the Mighty.) leobertucelli
Just why must all re-releases be in DVD? Yes, I'm aware they contain more information but though that's great, I just may want the film to see. I wonder what all you people are going to do when they come out with the next innovative device? Though the expentiture of extra cassh isn't the problem, it's more of why in hell must I then recycle all my distractions? That trendy I am not! brackenhe
I see you're still the warm and lovely person we all love, Leo.
markfp2
Leo, time marches on and so does technology. As silents gave way to talkies, and b/w to color, tv gave way to cable and satellite, so must VHS to DVD. Actually, the fact of the matter is money. The studios sell far more DVDs now than they do VHS tapes. Most of us who still have VHS (I do) use it to record movies or play the ones we've bought. While I'll buy a movie on VHS, it will only be if I can get it VERY cheap. As for anything new, I want the quality of DVD. Go ahead, take the plunge, you won't regret it. Go to most any discount store and you'll find bare-bones models for about $40. I'll bet you'll be won over.
therealfuster
your Victrola, for a Roaring Twenties party I'm having? I have enough 78's but we want to use the short wave, to see if anyone has reported us to the police. Hold That Tiger!
