Osborne on Tracy and Hepburn

I was watching Osbourne just now introduce Cukor's Little Women.

Someone should tell Robert Osbourne that Tracy and Hepburn did not rent two houses on the George Cukor estate. Tracy rented one house which toward the end of his life, he and Hepburn shared. And then after he died, Hepburn rented it until 1978.

have to give my 2 cents in on this 1. & as you correctly noted-(though he likely read 1 of the books that actually do report the "DYNAMIC DUO" as renting 2 cottages on *George Cukor's-(1899-1983) Malibu mansion-(in the back)

 

A lot of this is likely also do to the fact that *Spence himself was very, very, private individual-(with many demons that didn't help) & he also never wrote any type of biography, or even an autobiography-(like 1 I own of *James Cagney for example) So, all most fans have to go-on, is from *Kate's point of view of course.

 

I forget, if you-(sagebrush) were ever able to get the phenomenal 1987 PBS docu.-(that TCM aired a coule months ago) "The Spencer Tracy: Legacy" Narrated & hosted by *Kate.

 

You shoulda' finished the job on this lil' topic though. He actually passed away far from that area 9191 St. Ives Drive in LA-(technically)

Of which was another place they rened-(I recall you stating there is a huge brickwall surrounding that house now)

 

& his main residence-(of which Louise Tracy & the children 1st grew-up) Was actually located in B. Hills on/at 1158 Tower Rd.-(Ironically, yet another *"TRACY-ITE" *Jack Lemmon-(1925-2001) lived nearby-(& I was lucky enough to see *Lemmon's humble home 2 years before he passed away) Also, Jay Leno is on same rd.

 

& the tour I went on-(welp, it left a lot out. Including not even attempting to go nowhere near the infamous Benedict Canyon & very deliberately so too!)

 

So he didn't even mention any house that may have once belonged to *TRACY FAMILY-(back during in the day)

 

He never even mentioned that *Jimmy Stewarts-(1908-97) house-(of course it was also being raised, as I luckily got some shots) & is located on the once legendary: Roxbury Drive-(Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz just across st. As was Jack Benny's home-(they are at least still there, for now anyway?) Peter Falk, 0scar Levant, Polly Bergen & a few others live, or lived on Roxbury Drive!

But, *Wally Beery-(1885-1949) lived in same home as *Stewart-(during early & mid 1930's) Back during the Golden Age,etc *Jimmy was known to even wave to fans-(they used to have tour buses, with 2 floors & all)

 

However, it's like he said-(the driver.) When we took a walking tour of: Greystone Park-("Witches of Eastwick"/ "Beverly Hills Cop"/ "The Bodyguard"-('92 version)/ "Ghostbusters" & once was AFI's headquarters.

Most nowadays, mainly want to only see where: Brad Pitt, Adam Sandler & *Julia,etc live. & he once-(this was a STUNNER! Had a gal that had to ask whom Marilyn Monroe was, or is???)
