1. It's a tie..GWTW and Wizard of Oz. They're both so good, I can't decide. 2. Waterloo Bridge - only movie where I actully cry during the beginning. If you've never seen it, you'll understand why after watching it. 3. I'll Cry Tomorrow - by far Susan Hayward's best performance. I've listed 4 here, but when you're dealing with great classics, it's tough to limit the number to 3. I really could list another 50 or so really great classics....Casablanca...I agree with you on that one too. Laura, The Maltese Falcon, Abandon Ship, any Walt Disney animated feature, The Best Years of Our Lives. How can you pick just three!

Your right it should be ten. Here are the rest of my chocies---

4. Ben-Hur, it's one of a kind, Charlton heston did great.

5. To kill a mockingbird, one of my favorites. I loved that movie alot. Gregory peck is one of the best actors of all time, i loved him when he played the bad brother in a movie with Joseph Cotten, and Jennifer Jones. Can't remember the title, but it's a great film

6. Clark Gable movie with Myrna loy and Spencer tracy was really good, again can't remember the title, but great movie.

7. Imitation of life was a great movie, It was such a sad but great movie.

8. Key Largo, not one of Bogarts praised performances, but i thought it was great.

9. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, thought it a great musical.

10. It's a wonderful life, and Mr. Smith goes to washinton, Wow, what great movies. I can't believe i forgot them. They are superb. I love Jimmy Stewart. He was a great actor.

Yes, you've listed more great classics as well. Ben-Hur-what a wonderful movie. The Gregory Peck movie was Duel in the Sun-yes, he was great. You're not used to seeing him play the bad guy. How great was he in Roman Holiday too! I think your other movie was Test Pilot with Clark Gable/Myrna Loy. Great! I love Seven Brides for Seven Brothers! It was actually one of the first movies I have on VHS I got on DVD. I was very saddened when Howard Keel passed away recently. What a loss. And of course, anything Bogart is good. He can be tough as Marlowe, sweet as the stuffy brother in Sabrina or gruff and lovable in African Queen. I also like both Imitation of Life productions, but I tend to like the later version only because Lana Turner looks to die for in her Jean Louis gowns and fabulous jewerly! The red carpet actresses of today should take note!

That is killer, just 3, eh? Well, it may be very typical and uninteresting but....Gone With The Wind, Wuthering Heights, and Love Affair.I love romances, I love heart wrending tragedies, stuff that makes me cry and mess up my make-up. Ahhh! Those are tops in my books.

Yeah, i do like stuff that makes me cry. I do like Gone with the Wind. For some reason thought, i was angry throughtout the entire film, because i did not like Scarlet, i absolutely loved Clark Gable, and Olivia De Havilland. I saw the sequel to Gone with the wind and thought it terrible, i wouldn't watch it again. It's called Scarlet, and definitely did not do justice to the first one. Did anyone else see the sequel? What are your thoughts? Did you like it?

Impossible! There is no way I can limit myself to 3 favorites. So, on that note, here is my "desert island" ten.

10. Teacher's Pet - Clark Gable, Doris Day and Gig Young. The scene in the night club is one of Gable's all-time greats and Gig Young is simply a treat!

9. The Unknown - The only silent film on my list and one of Lon Chaney's greatest. The emotional impact of this movie is simply unparalleled.

8. Yojimbo - My favorite film from Kurosawa (although The Lower Depths is reeeeal close). Mifuni is fantastic as the original "Man with no name".

7. The Oxbow Incident - Incredibly powerful film that shows the cosequences of "mob mentality". Fonda is great, but Dana Andrew's dignity in the face of death steals the show. Lost out to Casablanca as Best Film.

6. Black Angel - Essential film-noir. Dan Duryea is fabulous in this "the orginal Memento". Peter Lorre and Broderick Crawford round out a stellar cast.

5. The Desperate Hours - Bogart at his best as home invader Glen Griffin. Fredric March and Arthur Kennedy round out a great cast.

4. Key Largo - Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Edward G. Robinson, Lionel Barrymore, Clare Trevor and John Huston. I mean, what can you say to that? Simply one of the greatest films ever made.

3. Pulp Fiction - I know many will disagree with this film being on this list, but to me, this one of the most watchable films ever made. Incredible dialogue!!

2. White Heat - THE ultimate gangster film. Better than Public Enemy, Little Ceasar and High Sierra. Cagney's Cody Jarrett is the measuring stick by which all modern gangsters are measured.

1. North by Northwest - In my opinion the greatest movie ever made. Cary Grant is fantastic as the advertising man with a nasty case of mistaken identity. Eva Marie Saint is perfectly cast as Eve Kendall. James Mason is menacing as Vandamm. Leo G. Carroll and Martin Landau are great also. The crop duster scene is one of the most identifiable scenes in movie history and where else can you find someone hanging from George Washington's face?

Yes, I saw the sequel. I did not like it as much as the orginal. I think that no one could compare to Clark Gable and Viven Leigh's acting. I think Gone with the Wind should just end where the movie stops nothing could top the orginal. I wonder what happens to Scarlett but, it should be left to everyones' own imagination. (I grew up on Gone wiht the Wind and often I did not understand it when I was younger. I've seen it numerous times and I can remember the first time I realized how many men Scarlett married and also how mean she really was. I recently saw it and discovered this (hadn't seen it in a LONG time) and thought Scarlett was a brat. I really did like Melanie and Rhett though.)
