bhryun
Does anyone remember civil war/western where a confederate group is attacked by Indians and they send out for help from the Yankee soldiers but in the end they make a run for it and are trapped in a canyon and killed by the Indians just before the calvary arrives. I do not know who was in it or the name. it was a B/W film and I last saw it on TV in the 60"s. Help.
feaito
Check the plots of "They Died with their boots on" and "Fort Apache" at www.us.imdb.com. Hope you have luck and it's one of those.
deborahwakid11
Hi MHreck: When you mention confederates, do you mean Confederates, as in Confederate soldiers? If you do, I'm positive it's neither "They Died With Their Boots On" or "Fort Apache." There might have been some soldiers in the Cavalry who had once been confederates in "Fort Apache," but they weren't the entire group in the movie. I'm sure it's not that movie. "They Died With Their Boots On" started in Civil War, but afterwards, I don't remember any confederates being trapped either. There was a movie called "Escape From Fort Bravo," about a band of escaping Confederate troops, but that was a color movie starring William Holden. For the life of me, I don't know which one you mean. There was also a Joel McCrea movie called "Fort Massacre," where he hates Indians because they killed his family. He and his troop are also trapped in a canyon, but that is also a color movie, not a black and white movie. Good luck in your search. shainablue1
I found this movie made in 1950 called Rocky Mountain which seems to have all the elements you state. Check it out: http://www.tvguide.com/movies/database/showmovie.asp?MI=18513 Sounds an awful lot like your plot and seems obscure.
