tilden72
I have just watched "The Day the Earth Stood Still" for so many times that I can not count. But I though I saw our Aunt Bee from "The Andy Griffith Show?" Can you tell me was that her, did anyone from that cast do any films worth watching? lavenderblue
Yes that's Frances Bavier. As far your other question, depends on your taste in films. Here a few other films cast members were in that I'm fond of. Michael Rennie- *Demetrius and The Gladiator* and *The Robe* Patricia Neal- *A Face In The Crowd* , *Breakfast at Tiffany's* , *The Fountainhead* Hugh Marlowe* - *All About Eve* Sam Jaffee- *Gunga Din* , *The Asphalt Jungle* , *Lost Horizon* Billy Gray- *By The Light Of The Silvery Moon* , *On Moonlight Bay* Billy Gray was also Bud Anderson on the tv show Father Knows Best

Tilden, If you meant the cast of TDTESS as having done any worthwhile movies, then someone has answered you. But if you mean the cast of "The Andy Griffith Show", then the only ones I'm familiar with are the stars, Andy Griffith, who made a whole slew of movies in the late 50s; Don Knotts, who had several cornball comedy vehicles in the 60s, and later was in some Disney movies in the 70s (I loved his movies as a kid), and Ron(nie) Howard, who starred in a number of movies in the 70s, before finding his true niche as a director. fredbaetz
A few others to check out: Michael Rennie- "5 Fingers" with James Mason. Excellent and true spy thriller "The Lost World" 1960 "Les Miserables" as Jean Valjean Rennie also starred as Harry Lime in the TV series "The Third Man".. Patricia Neal- "Hud" her Academy Award winning roll. "Breakfast at Tiffany's" "Operation Pacific" and "In Harms Way", both with John Wayne. "The Hasty Heart" Hugh Marlow- "12 O'Clock High" "Rawhide" with Tyrone Power and Susan Hayward "Garden of Evil" with Gary Cooper and Susan Hayward again. "Rawhide" with Tyrone Power and {u guessed it} Susan Hayward....
lavenderblue
*Hud*, *5 Fingers* , *The Hasty Heart* and *Rawhide* . are such good films. I also watched Ben Casey every week, don't think I ever missed an episode and The Third Man Really would love to see those shows in rerun. Fred, glad you mentioned those films.
