Flash, you did what so many others have done. You confused Al "Fuzzy" St. John with Fuzzy Knight. Al St. John was a very acrobatic silent screen comic, working often with his uncle, Fatty Arbuckle. Starting in the 1930's, he played comical sidekick Fuzzy Q. Jones to a variety of western heroes, most notably, Buster Crabbe. Fuzzy Knight was also a sidekick in hundreds of movies and TV shows. Here is Fuzzy Knight.

And who is this next western star who met an untimely demise?

Yes, young Mary Lee made several movies with Gene Autry. When he went into the army, she did a few with Roy Rogers. Gene referred to her as his "Little Darlin'". Here they are together.

Here's another photo of Mary.

She retired from movies at age twenty. Now, here is another of Gene's co-stars. She made ten pictures with Gene from 1939 to 1941.

As you can see, she was quite pretty, and she could ride and sing well too. Who is she?

Yes, tha was June Storey. One of the prettiest of the "prairie flowers" in "B" westerns. Here she is with Gene.

And here she is later in life.

Now I promise to post just one more of Gene's ladies. This one also starred in a TV show and was an early heroine for cujas and lots of other young girls. Who is she?

Yes, it's Gail Davis. Before she was TV's Annie Oakley, she was in several movies and TV shows with Gene Autry. Her original name was Betty Grayson. When she came to Hollywood, she had a husband named Bob Davis. She couldn't use the name Betty Davis, for obvious reasons, and she didn't want any confusion with Katherine Grayson, so she changed her first name to Gail and kept her married name. Here she is in later life.

Now, who is this next lady?

She often played the "Other Woman" in her younger days. In later life, she had a career as a supporting actress. You may remember her from this next photo.

Yes, That's Pert Kelton. She was in lots of pictures in the thirties. When Jackie Gleason did one season of "The Life Of Riley" on TV, she played his wife, Peg. Later, on "The Honeymooners" she sometimes appeared as Alice's mother. Many will remember her as the mother of Shirley Jones in "The Music Man". Now I think it's time for Metz or someone else to post one.
