filmlover
I've always enjoyed this version (I like all of them), but the opening background music is horrible. It is much more suited to a Las Vegas revue. Excellent old British actors in the cast. Leo Genn, Wilfrid Hyde-White, Dennis Price, Stanley Holloway. One thing that did (and does) bother me is the exact timing of the first murder just a few seconds after the victim confesses his crime. How could Mr. U.N. Owen know he would be the first and how could he know he would confess right then?
MovieMadness
This is a great movie but Fabian was awful, so glad when he was the first little Indian.
filmlover
LOL, agree. And one thing wrong with the plot, and this goes back to the original novel, is the killer is pretty obvious. I am not giving away anything, but from the way it is set up... But I still like every version. A later remake had Orson Welles' voice as U.N. Owen. Hibi
Yeah, there is a major heads up about midway through for viewers paying attention..........

Ah yes, all five of them (out of the whole history of everyone, ever who has sat through some or all of this movie.) ps- at least the intro music has some personality. Bildwasser
If one already knows the plot, there's not much reason to film it three more times. This version is okay, but nothing special. It does give some older British character actors a chance to do their thing. The only mystery to me was whether Hugh O'Brian was going to make it with Daliah Lavi or Shirley Eaton or both. Mystery solved. And yes, thank goodness Fabian went first. I wasn't much bothered by the opening theme music, it was just your typical mid 1960s sound. Janet0312
I thought the actress with that far out wig could have pulled it off her head and conked somebody. What hair!
Hibi
Yes, that wig was something else, wasnt it? (****) Nothing like bad 60s wigs. Must've weighed a ton too......I didnt watch last night, but the last time it was on...........
SansFin
I like this version despite its obvious flaws but I prefer *Desyat negrityat* (1987).
