filmlover
He would have been 111 today! I think all of us at some point grew up with Walt Disney. For me, it was the Wonderful World of Disney every Sunday ight, and the movies of the early 1960s. Wonderful memories: Gallagher, Emil, Johnny Shiloh, the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, Hayley Mills, Flubber, the Monkey's Uncle, Annette, Thomasina, and so much more. Sadly, he died just two weeks after his 65th birthday.
lzcutter
If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Walt Disney Family Museum is celebrating Walt's birthday today with a Free Admission Day and extended hours. The Museum, located in the Presidio of San Francisco, is open until 8:00 pm tonight. Admission to the main Museum galleries and theater is free but the separate exhibit (in another building) on the 75th anniversary of Snow White is $10. Happy Birthday, Walt! EugeniaH
Pushing this thread back up. Great to celebrate Walt Disney! A true innovator of American entertainment. Movies, television, comics, theme parks... He was also a major funder of CalArts. Here's his Wikipedia entry (in case there's someone here who's never heard of him, lol): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walt_Disney
LonesomePolecat
Disney[/i]6.jpg] I owe this man a lot of joy and laughter. I'll be enjoying his park tomorrow.
