Sepiatone
Jimmy Cagney reprising his role as George M. Cohen at an award ceremony for Foy, and the sharp barbs Hope and Cagney exchange as Foy and Cohen is a highlight of the movie. I usually find Hope, in most of his movies, as silly. But it WORKS in this one! Sepiatone
WhyaDuck
Yes, The Hope and Cagney scene is classic....both show they did their time in vaudville and song and dance routines. What is the Hope movie that he plays the mayor of New York....That is a very good Hope movie that I haven't seen in a long time. I think he sings the song about Manhattan in it. aimalac91748
That would be "Beau James". This is a title I wish TCM could get and show a couple times. I have it on VHS and just recently copied the VHS to DVD. I'm sure there are many viewers out there that would love to see it.
markfp2
TCM always prefers to get both the American and Canadian rights to the films they show so both schedules are the same. Unfortunately, now and then, the Canadian rights are not available to them. This is one of those times. If the rights aren't available, then there's really nothing TCM can do.
