slaytonf
A post by Swithin in the Barbara Stanwyck thread made me wonder about alternate dvd sources. When someone asks in a post where to find a dvd or other format, I search the title. A lot of times I come up with a number of sources, including ones like bonanza.com, and obscuretreasures.ecrater.com. But other than Amazon, I'm unsure of their reliability, and am hesitant to recommend them. Now I have to say, for the little I've bought online, I've never been ripped off, even for pricey items. But if anyone has recommendations, I'd be interested in knowing what they are.
Swithin
I just found one called Bonanza, I don't know anything about it. I've only purchased online from Amazon and Amazon UK, and in my VHS days, from Video Yesteryear and another UK company. http://www.bonanza.com/listings/The-Creeper-1948-DVD-Rare-Horror/30505481
EugeniaH
One site where I've purchased classic movies is called "Loving the Classics": http://www.lovingtheclassics.com/ I can't say these are high quality DVDs, but I've found movies there that I can't find on amazon. I'll also check out the ones you've mentioned. Thanks!
RaquelVixen
How ironic that no one believes TCM.com/shop is a reliable source for DVD and other sources. My, how the mighty have fallen. T

DougieB
I've used Loving The Classics too and have gotten a few things, such as "About Mrs. Leslie" with Shirley Booth and Robert Ryan and "Lucy Gallant" with Jane Wyman and Charlton Heston. They were obviously second generation copies, probably recorded off TV, but the quality wasn't by any means poor and I was glad to have them. No problem with the service. Swithin
What about Bonanza? They seem to have the film I want.
Filmgoddess
I get everything by downloading from the various torrent and film sites. It's the only way to go. Try torrentz.se. You'll find anything you want there.
