The idea of this thread is to archive in one spot, any audio interview of any person who participated in the silent film industry. As time passes, these first hand experiences become more and more valuable in understanding the origins of an entire industry. The following is just one segment of a 12 part seies of audio clips of silent movie actress Claire Windsor. Although little known today, her career earned her a star on the walk of fame in Hollywood. She experienced all the joys and turmoils of the film industry during the 1920's.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ka2vkE3cu0s

Here is a delightful radio interview with Mary Pickford from 1959. I must confess that I did not know very much about her life before the movies. Her comments on Charlie Chaplin are noteworthy and luckily, her predictions on the complete demise of the film industry by the TV has not come to fruition. Sadly, her home was not turned into a museum as she had hoped. For the newbees to the silent screne, the 13 part "Hollywood, a Celebration of the American Silent Movie" is also well worth watching. All but episode #10 can be seen on YouTube.
