Another Saturday morning, rocking the house!!! BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935), followed by GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS (1956), followed by my main man, Warren William, in his finall Perry Mason appearance, THE CASE OF THE VELVET CLAWS (1936), and finally the last in the Torchy Blane series, this time with Allen Jenkins and Jane Wyman in the leads, TORCHY PLAYS WITH DYNAMITE (1939)!!!

Oh, and sandwiched in between GODZILLA and the Perry Mason flick is an Inspector Carr mystery short from 1931, THE COLE CASE, starring my main man, John Hamilton (Perry Mason) and Donald Meek!!

TCM is really bringin' it this morning! Rock and roll!

Mark,

Like you, I've been grooving to the Torchy Blaine series and am watching the final installment this morning. While Allen Jenkins can hold his own when compared to Barton MacLane as Steve, I'm having a hard time with Jane Wyman as Torchy. It doesn't help that you can see her trying to act like Farrell and not coming close.

No offense to Wyman fans but I think Joan Blondell might have been a better choice.
