gwtwbooklover
I live in a small town and the movie theatre is closed(though due for re-opening in June) also when this movie came out I was silenced read the computer was on the fritz. Anyway, can someone tell me I am very curious about how the movie renders Gardner's and Hughes relationship. Yes, they dated but he was a bad date according to Ava. He also was very mean to her and once they got into a knock down drag out fight according to Ava in her book. Thanks for any info
brackenhe
According to our resident expert on The Aviator, Sagebrush aka ariel, the movie was entirely inaccurate about their relationship. In fact, the whole movie was a fraud, according to ariel. Actually, I think they met about 10 years after the movie says they met. Other than that I don't really know. edgedrv
There is a new book about Howard Hughes by Darwin Porter called Howard Hughes: Hell's Angel. In Porter's book he states that it was really odd about the emphasis of Gardner and Hepburn in the Aviator movie, since these were the two most famous actresses who never even slept with Hughes. Also, according to the book Cary Grant not Ava Gardner pulled Hughes together to testify against the committee that was intent on prosecuting Hughes.
