bhryun
I'm glad that TCM recently showed some of Marie Dressler's films. She was such a great star; she could make you laugh or cry depending on the circumstances. I wish TCM would show more of her films, especially the films she co-starred with Polly Moran. TCM should also dedicate a day to her films; after all she was the biggest box office star of the early 1930's until her death in 1934. I've had the TCM channel for over ten years and they've never shown "Caught Short" (1930 MGM vehicle with Polly Moran) or "Christopher Bean" (Marie's last movie before her death, also an MGM movie). I've continually requested these two films be brought out from the vaults for us viewers to enjoy to no avail. Maybe if more fans would request these two films the TCM programmers will finally put them on the schedule.
feaito
I also happen to love Marie Dressler and so far I've only seen her in "Dinner at Eight" and "Min and Bill"; Would love to see more of her! I've got "Anna Christie", but I've never seen it (shame!!) Thanks to a good pal who taped them for me, I'll be able to see "Prosperity", "Politics" and "Reducing". I'd also love to see "The Late Christopher Bean", "Emma", "Caught Short", "Tugboat Annie", "Let Us Be Gay", "Chasing Rainbows", "The Divine Lady", "The Patsy", "Bringing Up Father" and "The Callahans and the Murphys", some of which are featured on TCM's schedules.
