edgedrv
This book about MGM head Louis B. Mayer has gotten favorable reviews and anything on MGM I always look forward to reading. Author Scott Eyeman was on television recently, talking about his new book. The interviewer asked if he intended on turning the book into a documentary. Eyeman said he was interested but had no takers so far. The subject matter would make a perfect documentary for TCM and one hopes this comes about in the near future. richardny4me
Hi Edge, I just got the book last week but I have yet to read it. I agree this would make an excellent, essential TCM documentary. However I am almost certain there will be an A and E biography about Louis B. Mayer - hopefully a 2 hour one. I actually have been waiting for it to be annouced since I read the following excerpt from a website devoted to Kathryn Grayson (though I see today the website has not been updated since last November): "Miss Grayson has been interviewed for an upcoming A&E biography about MGM's Louis B. Mayer. Broadcast date to be announced." Kathryn Grayson hardly ever participates in these kinds of things, so I am looking forward to it.
edgedrv
richardny4me, I know the author had access to many files and letters and he interviewed many people including Danny Selznick. I am looking forward to reading this book and seeing this documentary when and if it airs.
