edgedrv
The film I first remember this blonde actress from was the 1954 film YOUNG AT HEART, wherein Fraser played Doris Day's older sister. A very pretty woman, I always thought this actress had a wonderful smile. Ms. Frasier started her career on B'way opposite the Lunts and Montgomery Clift. WB later signed her to a contract and she appeared in such films as THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER. She again appeared with Doris Day in TUNNEL OF LOVE and also played Shelley Winters friend in A PATCH OF BLUE. She did a lots of live television in the early days and is probably best remembered as Phil Silvers girfriend in the PHIL SILVERS SHOW. At one time she was married to dancer Ray McDonald, who had appeared in several MGM musicals. Ms. Fraser was 85.
loliteblue
Elizabeth Frazer was a young girl holding her own with Monte Wooley, Ann Sheridan, Bette Davis in the film "The Man Who Came To Dinner" In Young AT Heart Elizabeth was by now a seasoned actress. In Patch of Blue she was a superb side kick to shelley winters with her vocal accent, her gum chewing, and her brawling girlish ways she was now a character actress Bonifide.. My condolences to family and friends....lolite.
shainablue1
I have never seen, " The Man Who Came To Dinner", but I saw " NIiht And Day" about the life of Cole Porter and incindentally, Monty Wooly. In it they touched on that movie as Wooly's first? I am going to see it now, and look for Ms. Frazers performance. I am sorry to hear about her passing. stargzn
I read this thread last night, and couldn't place her. Imagine my surprise, when I read the credits at the end of A Patch of Blue, today (I'd forgotten this thread) Yes, I definitely recognized her, and when something like this happens, I tend not to forget these character actors, again. Rest in peace, Elizabeth.
