sagebrush522
I was watching this film tonight in between watching The Apprentice so didn't see it all. Hope TCM shows it again. A couple of interesting things. First the use of the word 'macho' in the very same say it's used now. I always thought macho was Italian or something. It was just really interesting to hear it used in this film. Second, the TCM blurb on my TV described the film as a comedy which is certainly wasn't. I was also fascinated with the rather casual use of mild profanity which, of course, you never hear in 1940s U.S. films. Finally, the star, Pedro Armendariz, was one of those poor souls who went to Utah to film The Conqueror and subsequently died of cancer. Did anyone ever figure out exactly how and why the Utah location for The Conqueror was so contaminated? Ariel
