FlyBackTransformer
Just look at tuesday the 11th's schedule. Nothin' but film noir. It seems that's what TCM's daytime schedule is mostly these days which is undistinguished 1930s and 40s film noir so why does TCM have to set aside fridays for more of the same??? Economics and preserving their fixed movie rotation? X-(
Dargo2
Geez Fly! It sure doesn't take you long to become dissatisfied around here, doesn't it! I mean, dude, they just showed YOUR favorite Bogart movie just LAST NIGHT(yeah, the one where he's flyin' around in that jet airplane that has NO AIR INTAKE on it), and yet less than 24 hours later, here ya are AGAIN gripin' about TCM's schedule!!! (...man, I tell ya, some folks suuuuure have short memories, don't they???!!!) LOL
FlyBackTransformer
True...but to impress me they needed to show the *COLORIZED* print of Chain Lightning.
Dargo2
Ooooh....you better be careful brandishing about that word "COLORIZED" around THESE here parts there, cowboy! (...haven't you figured out by now that with the general demographic around this town, you're asking to be tarred and feathered and run outta town on a rail???!!!...and trust me, I probably won't help stop 'em, EITHER!!!) FlyBackTransformer
and yet some years ago TCM *themselves* have aired The Thing from Another World colorized.
Dargo2
Yeah, I would make a little game outta that back then. Uh huh...every time I'd see one of the character's skin tone bleed into the background color, I'd take a sip of my Single Malt Scotch I have sittin' on my bar. (...and by the time all those scientists and military men FINALLY figured out that FIRE "might work" in eradicating their misbehaving guest, I really didn't care anymore...okay, okay...I still cared, but a whole lot less)

Fedya
*It's a Great Feeling* is a noir????? Ruth Chatterton in *Female* is a noir????? *His Girl Friday* is more sci-fi than noir. Although if you ask me, it's even more of a western.

Fortunately, Ted saw the error of his ways and gave up the whole colorization thing. > I understand that and I regret that the whole anti-colorization mindset has prevailed because I've seen a number of colorized movies where color improved my enjoyment of the film, movies like Chain Lightning and Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House. I got a kick outta seeing them in color as well as The Thing From Another World. Every year during the Holidays AMC will show a colorized print of Miracle On 34th Street so I cannot be against colorization as it has worked splendidly with a lot of movies like The Longest Day. I would agree that film noir classics like The Maltese Falcon should never be colorized but to shut the whole practice down from all films IS A MISTAKE. Earth Vs The Flying Saucers also looks good colorized as does Plan 9 From Outer Space. judge for yourself. Here is some colorized KING KONG. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sVRBkolRsw&list=PLCB02375404EA7F33

Sepiatone
I think complaining about "too much noir" is neither here noir there. Noir can we ignoir the complaint. I myself haven't seen a lot of "noir" lately, just old black&white movies, which I suppose some think of as "noir". Some still argue as to whether or not *Calling Noirthside 777* is a "real noir" film. I guess the noirmal response should be to ask Fly which "noir" films he's remarking about, so we can settle this in a reasonable manner.
