SpaakFan
I have come to really appreciate Italian films of the 60's and enjoy them a lot (to the extent that they are available). It's a shame that they are not more readily available in the U.S. (even though many of them had at least limited theatrical runs in the U.S. back in the day). TCM has shown "Mafioso" over the last year, which I think is a very good film. There are some really enjoyable films from the likes of Catherine Spaak, Alberto Sordi, Ugo Tognazzi, Nino Manfredi, Claudia Cardinale, Stefania Sandrelli, Marcello Mastroianni, Vitorrio Gassman, etc. I find myself tending to like these movies more than some of their French counterparts from that era. Anybody else here like these movies? What are your favorites? Perhaps it's an acquired taste.
ValentineXavier
Fellini is my favorite Italian director of the era, with *Juliet of the Spirits* my favorite of his. I also like the work of Pasolini, De Sica, and Rossellini.
