PrinceSaliano
I'd like to see some Republics...THE LADY AND THE MONSTER; THE PHANTOM SPEAKS; VALLEY OF THE ZOMBIES. Some Monograms...THE APE MAN (restored!); HOUSE OF MYSTERY; PHANTOM KILLER. Some British...DARK EYES OF LONDON; THE NIGHT HAS EYES; THINGS HAPPEN AT NIGHT. Some silents...THE LAST WARNING; THE GOLEM; SEVEN FOOTPRINTS TO SATAN; THE BAT. All 8 films with Lugosi and Karloff together (including the NOT lost GIFT OF GAB). A night of vampires. Swithin
A night of Mexican horror, including the dubbed version of *The Black Pit of Dr. M*., *The Curse of Nostradamus*, the Aztec Mummy movies, and of course, *The Brainiac.*
SansFin
I wish very much that they would air: *The Black Cat* (1968). They often air a movie of the same name but which is not to me as truly frightening in imagery or presence. I would support a night of camp horror because I I believe it is easier to experience fright if you are laughing also.

So this one does exist? Would love the chance to see it sometime. I mean, really - how could a publicity shot like this *not* pique your interest? Is ThemaTodd around? Secret of the Blue Room is also on my want-to-see list. I think The Queen of Spades (based on a short story by Pushkin) would be a great addition to the line-up. It's a wonderfully unique and atmospheric film directed by Thorold Dickinson (probably best known for his 1940 version of Gaslight ). Anton Walbrook gives a highly memorable performance you may love or hate depending on your tastes for theatricality. Personally, I think it works in the context of a deliberately ornate film and obsessively-passionate characterization. I was very young when Suspiria was released. I would stay up late watching The Odd Couple and The Honeymooners and they always seemed to show the tv trailer for Suspiria late at night. That simple 15 second spot scared the living daylights out of me ... Roses are red, violets are blue, if you don't watch out Suspiria will get you. Swithin
SansFin, I did not know The Black Cat which you referred to, until I looked at the clip. I know it as Kuroneko, a great Japanese horror film which I once saw on a double bill with Onibaba (which means demon hag). I'd love to see them both on TCM during October! ValentineXavier
I believe that TCM has shown *Kuroneko* in the past, and possibly *Onibaba*. I believe they've shown *Kwaidan* too, which is a great group of ghost tales, suitable for October. *Ugetsu Monogatari* is also a ghost tale, but it's a lot more than a ghost tale. *Village of Eight Gravestones* would be a great one for the Halloween season, and it's almost impossible to see, being unavailable on DVD. Of course there are many great modern Japanese horror films *Cure* ans *Audition* are two of my favorites. I'd love to see some of them on TCM. *Vo8G* http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0204745/reference *Cure* http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0123948/reference *Audition* http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0235198/reference And, then there's *The Happiness of the Katakuris*, which is sort of a comedy horror musical, and great! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0304262/reference
MelissaW.
Would love to see Roger Vadim's Blood and Roses (1960), an adaptation of Carmilla, if only for the gorgeous score. http://youtu.be/hCn_MrYLshg
Swithin
I wonder if it's just a vocal minority that eschews foreign (and silent) films. I can't believe that the true film lovers on this board do not appreciate the artform in all its guises. But I could easily be wrong! Maybe horror films -- being so visual -- are a good genre to introduce foreign films to (pardon the expression) Philistines.
roverrocks
I want to see THE OTHER from 1972. Scared the bejesus out of me all those years ago in a dark theater when it came out. A scary movie.

Do you think it would help convert the vocal minority if some of the horror movies in a foreign language that were shown had a high level of familiarity? For example, the version of *Dracula* in Spanish with Carlos Villarias instead of the version of *Dracula* in English with Bela Lugosi that was filmed at the same time and on the same sets. Or the original *Gojira* in Japanese rather than reedited *Godzilla, King of the Monsters!* in English.

lanceroten
Some of these may not be possible for TCM, I no nothing about rights/fees (some Fox flicks) Mr. Sardonicus (TCM has shown this I believe) The Fly 1958 The Fly 1986 (run it late at night, yeah it's a bit gory but very good) Curse of the Demon (Dana Andrews, B Movie favorite) My thinking on Cronenberg's 1986 The Fly: TCM shows Night of the Creeps with a fair share of gore. Seems like 86's Fly could be shown as well. And it's certainly thought of in better terms than Night of the Creeps.
Swithin
Lance: A terrific Cronenberg film to show in October would be *They Came from Within* (aka Shivers), as bizarre and crazy as they get! Liam/Rover, The double feature idea would be an interesting approach, maybe back-to-back screenings of both versions, with someone to comment. It could be extended to non-horror, for example, a few years ago I saw the Swedish original film of *The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo*, which I liked very much. That could be shown with the highly touted American version, which I haven't seen. They could also do this with *The Blue Angel* which is really the same film with a different audio track; and *Confession* (1937), which is a scene-for-scene remake of the German film *Mazurka*. TCM must have done something like this already. And speaking of Sweden, I saw an amazing Swedish horror recently: *Let the Right One In*. That's scary and visual enough to be shown. I tend to use the English translation of titles when available because many people who would not shun a foreign movie are not motivated to consider one. If they are given information about it or there is a link to a trailer for it before they know that it is a foreign movie then they will have an investment in it and are more likely to pursue it. Fedya
> I'd also LOVE beyond words a SOTM for Bela Lugosi!!!! I'd be totally trippin' out! The could show his comic turn in *Broadminded* in prime time. Granted, it's not really a horror movie at all, unless you consider Joe E. Brown playing a baby at a "baby party" horrifying. :-)
