Guest
A few years ago, I saw the film Mrs. Soffel (1984), and felt that it was a pretty good film. However it's not really a romance movie like the rest of today's theme would indicate. Rather, Kate Soffel (Diane Keaton) is seduced by Ed Biddle (Mel Gibson) because he feels that by seducing her, its his way out of death row. What is even more remarkable is that it is based on a real-life case from Pittsburgh in 1902. The movie was filmed in the very prision where the events took place. FredCDobbs
http://www.alleghenycounty.us/police/origins.aspx Looks like the story in the movie stayed fairly accurate to the newspaper stories of the era. This film was directed by a woman. Now I want to see more of her films.
