MariaNellF
Ok, so the movie was set in the south I think. A boy and a girl were friends, they grew up. He had left town but now he is back, he is kind of a rebel and he gambles and drinks. She has bleach blonde hair and she has a crush on him, but her father doesn't approve of him. She never leaves her room, and the man comes to tell her he loves her. Her dad won't let him in and he never tells her he was there. Later, she finds this out, searches for her lost love, and finds out he has become a doctor and is married.
FredCDobbs
How old is the film? Color or black & white? Famous actors or not?
MariaNellF
Maybe late 50's early 60's, in color, and the actors weren't familiar to me. All I remember was he had dark brown hair and the girl had bleach blonde hair (that narrows it down, haha!)
musicalnovelty
It's a long shot, but some of what you describe reminds me of the 1942 movie KINGS ROW. Here's a plot summary: http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/80395/Kings-Row/full-synopsis.html
Jezebel38
Could possibly be Summer And Smoke (1961) http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/4250/Summer-and-Smoke/
